Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023 is one of the oldest opportunity for young students which started in 1883 and through this opportunity they can raise their voices through writing. In this Commonwealth Essay Competition, thousands of young students from different schools participate each time.Every essay competition is based on a theme.

This year the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023 asks applicants to explore the power young people hold in the global community and consider how this power be utilized to create a significant effect in the community.

Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition 2023

The participants are divided into two categories this year;

  • Senior Category ( For ages 14-18)
  • Junior Category (For ages below 14)

Each category will have their own essay topics and each category will have their own winners. You will compete among your own category.

Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition Benefits:

  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals
  • Certificate of Participation.

Eligibility Criteria of the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition:

  • Must be under 18.
  • Essay must be in English language.
  • The maximum word count for Senior Category is 1500 words and for Junior Category the maximum word limit is 750 words. Exceeding the words will result in disqualification.
  • The word limit applies to every format of writing e.g. essay, poem, letter, etc.
  • References and footnotes are not included in this word count.
  • The Essay should be plagiarism free no copy paste is allowed.
  • Select topic from your own essay category according to your age you cannot select a topic from the other category
  • The residents or nationals of all Commonwealth counties and territories can apply.
  • Residents of Ireland, Hong Kong, and Zimbabwe can apply.
  • In the case of participants from non-commonwealth countries, their entries must be submitted through their Local Royal Commonwealth Society Branch.
  • Do not include your personal details in the essay the personal details will be taken during the application process.

QCEC Competition Deadline:

The last date of submitting an essay is 30 June 2023.
